All of our orthodontists are members of the Orthodontic Society of Ireland, the American Association of Orthodontists, The British Society of Orthodontists and the European Aligner Society. Between them they have successfully treated over 15,000 patients.

All of our orthodontists are on the specialist Dental Council Register.
All of our orthodontists are on the Irish Register of Dental Specialists, which means they have completed 2-3 years of postgraduate training in orthodontics, in addition to five years at dental school. They are also members of the Orthodontic Society of Ireland, the American Association of Orthodontists, The British Society of Orthodontists and the European Aligner Society. Between them they have successfully treated over 15,000 patients.
Dr Anthony Coughlan: Is the founder and clinical director of Ratoath Orthodontics and Dublin Orthodontics (www.dublinorthodontics.ie). Dr Coughlan has 23 years’ experience in treating private orthodontic patients. Prior to that he was a general dentist for 10 years. He completed his dental degree at Trinity College, Dublin and this postgraduate orthodontic training Tufts University in Boston/USA. Dr Coughlan is a former president of the Orthodontic Society of Ireland (OSI) and he is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists and the European Aligner Society and the Irish Dental Association.
Dr Erfan Salloum is our other specialist orthodontist at Ratoath Orthodontics and also works at Dublin Orthodontics. Dr Salloum qualified as a dentist in 2008 and practiced general dentistry for 3 years in both hospital and private settings. In 2015 he completed full-time postgraduate orthodontic training in University College Cork where he obtained his doctorate in clinical orthodontics degree. Dr Salloum is the only orthodontist in Ireland to hold diplomas in orthodontics from all 4 Royal Colleges of Surgeons in Dublin, Edinburgh, Glasgow and London.
Dr Salloum is a published author in the European Journal of Orthodontics (EJO) for his clinical study on the Twin-Block functional appliance. Some of his orthodontic treated cases were used for illustrations in the famous orthodontic textbook "Clinical Problem Solving in Orthodontics and Paediatric Dentistry." Dr Salloum is a member of the British Orthodontic society, the Irish Orthodontic Society, the American Association of Orthodontists, the European Orthodontic Society, the European Aligner Society and he is a fellow of the World Federation of Orthodontists.
Finally, Dr Salloum has special interest in aligner therapy (such as Invisalign) for which he received an intensive training from one of the best aligner therapy providers in the US and he constantly continue to develop his skills in this exciting field of orthodontics.
Ms. Katarzyna Gorczynska is an orthodontic therapist and has been working alongside Dr. Coughlan since 2009. She is one of the senior staff in our team in both Ratoath Orthodontics and Dublin Orthodontics and her role extends beyond clinical duties. Kasia completed her training in Dublin Dental University Hospital and Trinity College where she was awarded her orthodontic therapy diploma with distinction in 2016. Kasia is also a qualified nurse and dental technician and she holds a certificate in dental radiology from Dublin Dental Hospital.
In June 2015 she graduated with a certificate in Dental Radiology at Dublin Dental Hospital. Kasia plays an active role in all areas of the practice. She is exceptionally good at explaining things to patients and putting new patients at ease when they are unfamiliar with orthodontic treatment.
She is certified in CPR and basic life support. She also oversees high standards of hygiene and infection prevention at the practice. Kasia is continuously looking to improve her skills and is an invaluable member of our team.
In her spare time Kasia loves spending time with her family and friends - husband Paolo and little daughter Mia.
My name is Elaine. I am a qualified Dental Surgery Assistant. I have been working with Dr. Anthony Coughlan since August 1999. That means next year I'm with him 20 years - wow!
I’m married with 2 great boys so most of my free time is spent at GAA matches but as a family we also love going to the movies to see the latest blockbusters or take our dog Teddy for long walks.
Hi! I’m Patti and I’m a qualified dental technician who joined the Ratoath Orthodontics team in September 2015. Working here has given me the opportunity to specialise in making orthodontic appliances which I find the most interesting field of dental technology. While not spending time in the lab making retainers and other removable appliances, I enjoy working as a dental nurse which allows me to interact with patients and helps me to understand their needs better.
I love to travel and experience different cultures and I always manage to find some free time for watching a good movie or reading a book. I also consider myself as a foodie and love eating out just as much as cooking - if time allows!
My Name is Milagros I'm a Dentist from Venezuela working as a Dental Nurse here at Ratoath Orthodontics while I wait to sit my Dental Council Exams, I've been part of this fantastic team since March 2019. It’s a great place to work. In her spare time Milagros loves spending time with her family and friends.
